Earlier in September Chaparral Boats debuted their Outboard Deckboat, the 250 Suncoast, at the Dealer Meeting in Key Largo, FL. What a beauty!! We had a chance to climb aboard and take her for a spin… very impressive! Compared to the Hurricane 2690 OB Sundeck, the Suncoast has the nicer riding Extended V-Plane Hull design that Chaparral has become known for. The other key feature is the nicely designed aft entry to the boat with easy movement around the engine. Additionally, well thought-out placement of battery switches in the rear compartment makes it easy to switch batteries off even after you’ve forgotten and the cockpit cover is on.
On the starboard side, there’s a compartment that has molded-in nested space to firmly house an igloo cooler. This makes it simple to pre-pack your cooler and slide it right in when you get to the boat. Alternatively, on the port side there is an insulated & overboard draining compartment which can also be used to keep things cold. In addition, there are numerous other compartments that have space for other gear you plan to bring aboard.
We’ve been granted one of the first production spaces for the 250 Suncoast and anticipate seeing our first outboard deckboat to arrive before our upcoming boat show in Downtown Ft. Myers this November! Let us know if you’re interested in scheduling a sea-trial on the 250 Suncoast. Give us a call or fill out the Quick Contact Form to the left.
