We are very excited to announce that Governor Rick Scott is visiting our Fort Myers location tomorrow morning – Tuesday, May 30th – for a site visit and a public press conference. He will be speaking on Florida job growth, Southwest Florida job growth, Lee County job growth, manufacturing jobs, & how boating is one of the last U.S based manufacturing industries. The press conference will be held in our beautiful service bay.
This is a very exciting opportunity & time for us here at Fish Tale Boats. We are excited to welcome Governor Rick Scott and his team. Additionally, Commissioners Brian Hamman and Cecil Pendergrass will be in attendance to this event.
Here at Fish Tale Boats, we are proud to be family owned & operated. We strive to have the best customer experience, whether it be your first boat purchase or your 10th. Since moving to our new location we have been able to expand our team to 40 people, a 43% increase from our Fort Myers Beach location. Our in-house staff includes skilled marine technicians specializing in Yamaha engines, Garmin electronics specialists, air conditioning systems specialists, fiberglass specialists, painting specialists, and plumbing specialists.
We are very fortunate to have two Yamaha engine master technicians on our team. This is a rare commodity to find at most boat dealers in the U.S. because there are only about 250 such certified experts in the entire U.S. When it comes to selecting outside vendors, we seek out companies with the same qualities we value: local family businesses that care deeply for their employees and business relationships in the community.
The boat manufacturers we choose to work with have similar values & goals – they’re like our extended family. Therefore, we chose to sell boats from manufacturers who treat their own employees and communities with the highest standards. This attention to people translates into the highest-quality products.
Our new location has seven-acres & has more than 100 boats on display from top-selling boat builders including Avalon, Chaparral, Grady-White, and Robalo. The renovated 14,000-square-foot Fort Myers state-of-the-art sales and service center includes the latest technology for boat maintenance and repairs, including a new hydraulic trailer, forklift and hoists capable of lifting boats up to 38 feet in length.
In a recent interview Governor, Rick Scott mentioned that there have been over 5,000 jobs created in the Southwest Florida region in the last year. The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity recently released its latest jobs report, which showed manufacturing has been one of the fastest-growing industries in Southwest Florida. The industry has gained 700 jobs over the year since March 2016, though it remains a small piece of the region’s economy.
